Jake Planinc

2025-2026 DramaFest Coordinator

Jake Planinc (he/him) is the founding Artistic Director of Matchstick Theatre, Festival Director for the Halifax Fringe, and Assistant Festival Director for the Mayworks Kjipuktuk/Halifax Festival of Working People & the Arts.

Franziska Glen

Incoming 2026 DramaFest Coordinator

Franziska Glen (she/her) is a theatre maker and arts educator living in Kjipuktuk/Halifax. She is co-founder of Gale Force Theatre and is interested in form-bending theatre for young audiences, outdoor performance and facilitating youth arts programs. She has worked and collaborated with River Clyde Arts, Mermaid Theatre of Nova Scotia, Satellite Théâtre, Bagel and Balloon, and North Barn Theatre as a designer, director, actor, puppeteer and general schlepper. Since 2023, she has co-created outdoor theatre programs for pre-teens and teens that focus on original and collaborative creation. As a teenager, Franziska was a keen participant of Ontario Sear’s Drama Fest and is excited to continue supporting this vital program.
